DA is getting on my nerves...

Journal Entry: Sun Dec 4, 2011, 12:36 AM
First of all I'm going to post this link of a journal a fellow deviant or ex deviant wrote lately.[link]
Read it, it's interesting and I agree on most parts of it, even though *Piddling is very strict.
And I'm supporting most of his arguements...

I'm fine with kittens I love them actually but the DD's? No...
Including my latest deviation that got a DD : [link]. I don't think that that was my best work :hmm:

Also what is happening with the groups is lame. Way too many groups and many of them support their friends. I've noticed that I am "black listed" from some specific groups after I  made negative comments to some deviants that were friends with the admins of the groups. Lame!

Also I keep trying and trying to do better in my photography, work with new people, models, stylists etc and my new photos that I think they are really getting better since and I am getting positive feedback from professionals for my true improvment, here they get zero views and faves, but if I upload a photo with my boobs, even if it is a cell phone shot, all hell breaks loose and I get tons of views, favorites, messages, notes, comments, everything!
Well I don't care about that, I don't care about teenage boys that are here to watch nude photos, go find some porn site people!
I'm telling you, boob photos are over, if that's what you expect from me, un-watch now!

Thanks for reading :)

Hi. I'm sorry you have had the experience you have that has caused you to have to censor your page here. I do wish folks had more manners and sense of respect. I'll admit, I liked a number of your nude photos, but not all of them (not that you posted any bad shots) but I didn't watch your art for just that. Actually I really liked a number of the shots of you being totally goofy! Those oare some really fun shots that are great for showing a side of you other than being a great and very professional model. It's not too often you find people(not just women) who are comfortable enough with themselves to be able to do that. Those shots made your art even more interesting. It seemed to me as you had disappeared for awhile as the shots I had faved disappeared and I couldn't find your page to see what happened. You work behind the camera is as interesting and maybe even more so than the work you do in front of it. But, you are a very talented model and photographer who is excellent on either side. That's what keeps me coming back to your page. And whether you've been truly gone or not, it's great to see you back! :)

wow, you know Piddling too? I find that it's awesome that two of my few favourite photographers know one another. :D
Truly support his journal too!

DA is very weird lately. I agree about the groups. There are some groups where I attempt to post and am rejected when art that is of the same genre but with far less production value is snapped up. I bet if I was the submit a Helmut Newton shot they would reject it simply because I am who I am. Not exactly cool.

I LOVE your art and feel what you feel for sure !

I think that thats sad, and tends to happen with a lot of people I know on this site. I have to say that I (who is clearly a student) have seen some improvements with your photography in that they have more meaning and maybe more feeling to it, than pretty girls looking sexy. Now mind you I truly admire your work, and it has somewhat inspired me to become a professional photographer, the newer photos I like a lot more. For example, I love the Romanticism pictures. They were beautiful. But yeah I find that you get more notice on here for the wrong reasons, than you do for what the site is supposed to be for.

I'm sorry I disagree, art should not only be for those elitist few who can produce fine works but should be encouraged in every one even if their syles and tastes are different.

Art should always be controversial, if not then there is no growth and expansion of understanding.

When one persons views dictate the views of what constitutes fine art then there is no longer art worth seeing, while I agree there is a lot of fluff on DA there is always room to teach and understand.

Why discourage those who try, no one goes into any field with full understanding or an ability to produce top notch work, it takes time and effort.
