well actually I think they treat them very well over there. they are not in cages but in huge tracts of land, formed just like their hometowns.You know, lions are in areas that look like deserts or monkeys are in huge trees and stuff... Plus they are born in captivity and they would not survive in wildlife.
It's just my perspective, but it seems to wash out some of the cat's coloring, especially on the shoulder area, and draw out colors in the pool behind him that I find a bit putrid and remind me of vomit. Makes my stomach queezy just looking at it. LOL
I can see how it can be viewed as enhancing. It looks like a beam of light coming from above: a natural spotlight. It gives interesting contrast to the darker spotted areas.
